Rix orders 10 new Alpeco equipped Tankers

In 2009, Hull based fuel oil distributor Rix Petroleum, placed an order for 10 new delivery tankers all of which were fully equipped with Alpeco Limited products. So pleased were they with the products and services provided by Alpeco, that in early 2010 they placed an additional order for 12 more tankers.
Operations Manager Mike Fisher commented, "Our expansion programme respects the fact that our customers want to deal with a truly 'local' company. Many customers today are becoming tired of dealing with large or multi national companies. Having identified this demand from customers, we have increased our local approach to the marketplace and have show that value and quality can exist from a smaller supplier. This message has created the success we are experiencing today. In fact the message has been so successful that we have just placed an order for an additional 12 Alpeco equipped trucks.
"We went to Alpeco because the service we were getting from our original supplier was not as good as we had hoped. We were experiencing a lot of problems with vehicles when parts were not reliable or available. This caused major problems for our delivery commitments."
Rix Petroleum's 2009 order for 10 trucks saw all of them work very well. Consequently, Mike Fisher has gone straight back to Alpeco with his latest order.
"This was a very easy decision to make. The pricing was as we expected so we ordered the extra 12 vehicles to meet our expansion plans and hope to take delivery of the first two in early April for Rix Petroleum Mercia Ltd based in Staffordshire."
Mike added that another feature of the Alpeco equipment was the ability for the driver to operate the pump remotely: "This is a major benefit that ticks all the obvious environmental and health and safety boxes. It is clearly better for the driver not to be up a ladder or on a tank while trying to operate the pump equipment."
Mike Fisher concluded,"All the facilities I have mentioned about Alpeco's equipment is normally offered by a number of different suppliers but Alpeco offer a total package. Moreover, we never have any warranty issues. In the past we have run the risk of a supplier saying that there is a problem with the bolt-on products but with Alpeco it is all there plus we get two years warranty on their kit which is very good.
Of key importance here is the fact that when a kit goes down we get a quick response. The parts are normally held in stock, however, the biggest bonus for us is that Alpeco are authorised by NMO to self verify meter systems. This means that Alpeco are authorised and accredited to break a seal and repair the kit on the spot where others would have to wait three or four days for Trading Standards to make an appearance to reseal the vehicle so we can start using it again. The fact that Alpeco can do this themselves is fantastic.
"As a consequence I had a good look around all the other manufacturers and that started our relationship with Alpeco. We went to see them and spoke in detail to them and indeed to some of their customers. I liked their products, I liked their price and felt they were honest in their response to us so placed an order for 4 vehicles initially as a test to see how they went.
"On the first four vehicles we had Letrocount system, which again we knew had been proved and had been on the market some time and were impressed with this. We bought another 8 vehicles soon after as we were so impressed , these to were Letrocount. Then we went back again the following year to order more Lectrocounts."
"Adrian Baskott, Alpeco's Marketing Director informed me they had a new and better model that could be provided at the same price. Again we went through the checking process and liked what we saw. The new TE550 is a very, very simple system offering an easy-to-follow series of driver prompts. The new units worked extremely well and are easy to train drivers on. The system also gives us the ability to carry out metered 'uplifts' of fuel from clients' storage tanks which can be very helpful and adds a valuable extra service for our customers."
