Lords' question robustness of UK gas supplies

According to a BBC report noted on the excellent Gas-News.co.uk website, concern has been expressed by the House of Lords, about the ability of the UK"s gas network to cope with extreme conditions.
HM Government is on record that they wish to reduce the dependency of the UK upon "natural" gas and encourage energy diversity. However, the response has been to facilitate the building of additional pipelines - thereby ultimately increasing the country"s dependency upon "natural" gas.
