TankDepot.co.uk Introduces Wood Pellet Hoppers
27th June 2012
Probably best know primarily as a fuel oil tank supplier, TankDepot.co.uk has introduced an all-new range of wood pellet hoppers, designed primarily for the storage of biomass pellets at domestic heating installations.
Manufactured in the Republic of Ireland by Sturdy Products Limited, the new range has been introduced in response to growing demand for an affordable, weather proof and durable solution for wood pellet storage.
TankDepot.co.uk's Steve Beech says, "Available in a choice of 1 and 3 tonne capacities, Sturdy's Polystore wood pellet hoppers are purpose designed for the storage of wood pellets at domestic heating installations. However, additionally they can also be used for the storage animal feed pellets. Both models are suitable for use with vacuum, auger and manual extraction systems.
"The 1 tonne model benefits from a compact, slimline design and is ideal for smaller wood pellet and biomass storage installations. Clever design allows for the hopper to pass through a standard domestic doorway, where required, as the tank can be split from its base and then reassembled, where it is to be installed.
"Benefiting from weatherproof construction and suitable for outdoor use, Sturdy's Polystore wood pellet store, protects biomass and feed pellets from the worst excesses of the British weather. The storage tank can be filled by either a delivery truck, using the cam fitting provided or can be filled manually. A second cam allows for a dust filter to be fitted - if required. The unit includes drop down, textured steps, facilitating both safer bulk deliveries and permitting manual deliveries.
"Where greater capacity is required for wood pellet storage, the units can be modularised. They align side by side and are designed to allow an auger to run through the extraction area. An internal rubber baffle prevents the pellets from being damaged when bulk filling, whilst a mushroom vent on the Polystore roof prevents the build up of moisture by allowing any warm air to escape, keeping the stored material dry."
