Consider Environmental Qualifications, Says APHC
10th September 2012
The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) are encouraging installers who want to learn more about environmental technologies ahead of the Green Deal, to consider the City & Guilds 2399 Environmental Technology qualifications.
The qualifications provide a broad knowledge and understanding of environmental technologies and include specific areas such as Solar Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal hot water systems, heat pumps and water recycling. The level 3, technology specific qualifications are designed for those wishing to up skill existing workers to install and maintain environmental technology systems in readiness for the soon to be launched Green Deal.
John Thompson, Chief Executive, APHC says, "There is still quite a great deal of confusion amongst installers about the qualifications needed to cover the installation of new environmental technologies. The City & Guilds 2399 qualification is a good starting point for those who do not yet have any experience in environmental technologies or for those who have some experience but want to learn about a particular technology. There is also the full range of Green Deal qualifications including the Advisor and Installer elements to help people get the right qualifications in the run up to the start of the Green Deal"
Matt Lardi, Lead Portfolio Manager, City & Guilds says, "At City & Guilds, we understand the importance of providing high-quality qualifications to meet the skills needs of both new and emerging industries. With all the discussion on the Green Deal and the qualifications needed to become a part of the scheme, we are pleased to be able to offer a full range of qualifications to up-skill learners of all stages with the tools to compete in the Green Deal scheme."
Full details of all the Environmental Technology Qualifications are available to download from the City & Guilds website. For more information about the Green Deal qualifications please contact City & Guilds on 0800 334 5618 or email centresupport@cityandguilds.com.
