Carbery Set For Oil Industry Oscars

20th September 2012

Storage tank specialist Carbery Plastics, is celebrating after one of the company's products was shortlisted as a finalist in the annual oil heating 'oscars'.

Organised by The Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC), the Annual Awards For Excellence are a showcase for innovation and best practice within the oil heating industry. Carbery's 1000SB Superslim Bunded Heating Oil Tank has been chosen as one of three finalists for the 'Innovative Product of the Year' award, with the finals set for Manchester, UK next month.

Carbery's Founder and Managing Director, Michael McCarthy says, "This year Carbery celebrates 35 years in business, and so we're obviously delighted to see our 1000SB shortlisted for this prestigious award. Being selected as a finalist recognises not only Carbery's deserved reputation for continual innovation, but is also a testimony to the skills of our manufacturing and design staff."

Sean Walsh, Engineering Manager with Carbery says, "Launched only a few months ago, the 1000SB is already a popular choice with Carbery resellers and installers. They've been quick to appreciate a product, which combines compact dimensions with an industry-standard 1,000 litres capacity.

"We haven't been yet been able to fit the proverbial quart into a pint pot." says Sean. "But we have been able to design a 1,000 litres product with remarkably similar dimensions to a significantly smaller, 650 litres tank. Installers benefit from a product which is easier to handle and costs less to install; Consumers benefit from a tank which takes up less space."

The Awards final will be held at the Manchester Central exhibition and conference centre on Thursday 18 October 2012.
