CTS Unveils Remote Tank Monitoring Text Alert System

21st September 2012

Centre Tank Services (CTS), the exclusive UK distributor of Piusi fuel transfer equipment, has released a new, GSM Tank Level Text Alert System in response to recurring customer enquiries for a remote tank monitoring device.

Owners of remote heating oil tanks, for example holiday home owners, can suffer from not knowing when their fuel supplies are running low. During the winter months when the house is likely to be unoccupied, running out of heating oil can lead to frozen pipes, which ultimately can burst, costing £'000s in damages.

It was such an enquiry for a remote tank level monitor to counter this problem that led to the development of the CTS GSM Text Alerter. The Texter, which has now been released to the market, solves this problem, as when it detects that the fuel is running low, a text is sent to the tank owner allowing them to arrange an oil delivery.

As well as being able to set the "low level", the GSM Text Alerter can also be set up to indicate when the tank is "half full". By utilising both of these indicators, this unit can additionally be used to alert the tank owner of a potential heating oil theft or leak in the tank. If the user gets the two texts in short succession of each other, there is a potential cause for concern.

As well as the benefit of knowing exactly when a fuel delivery is needed the GSM enabled Texter provides remote tank owners with greater security over their oil supply.

Supplied complete with high and low level probes, the system is priced at £606 inc. VAT. For further product information, visit the CTS website.
