Kingspan spreads some Christmas Cheer

8th December 2004

Four companies, which belong to building products group Kingspan plc and manufacture goods ranging from oil tanks to water cisterns, will donate money to charity this Christmas instead of giving gifts to customers.

Following consultations with their clients, Kingspan GSP, ROM Plastics and ArMet Plastics, which are all based in the Republic of Ireland, and Tyrrell

Tanks which operates from Northern Ireland have donated a total of nearly £24,000 to good

causes.

The main charity to benefit is Barretstown at Ballymore Eustace in County Kildare, Republic of Ireland which provides summer residential camps and weekend programmes for children diagnosed with serious illnesses, and their families.

The charity, which was set up by the actor, Paul Newman, was chosen by Kingspan GSP, ROM Plastics and ArMet Plastics.

Tyrrell Tanks donated its £3,500 client gift fund to the Gateway Clubs, in Armagh, Northern Ireland. The Gateway Clubs provide activities, outings and information for local children and adults who suffer from physical or learning disabilities.

Gabriel McArdle, Sales Director for Kingspan in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, said “We’ve had a tradition of giving Christmas gifts to our clients to thank them for their support. Although these gifts have been much appreciated, we felt it would be nice to donate the money to charity this year.

We mooted the idea to a number of clients and they were all very much in favour. Barretstown and The Gateway Clubs are very special charities and we are delighted to be able to support them this Christmas.” added Gabriel.
