Merry Christmas from Oilfiredup.com

22nd December 2004

With Christmas Day fast approaching, everyone at Oilfiredup.com wishes you a very peaceful Christmas and to thank you for your continued and valued support over the past year.

The past year, has been a challenging one for the UK’s oil heating industry, with uncertainty over government intentions with reference to the issue of condensing boilers, historically high energy prices and a full scale assault launched by Calor on the oil heating industry. However, as the year draws to a close, high energy prices have subsided, the LPG threat has waned and the issue of condensing boilers has been clarified.

The coming 12 months is likely to prove equally as challenging and exciting. Forthcoming changes to the Building Regulations have yet to be confirmed, energy prices are likely to remain higher than many within the industry would wish, The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) England Regulations 2001 come into full effect and the issue of overfill prevention on storage tanks is set to become a major issue.

Additionally, April sees the annual Federation of Petroleum Suppliers Conference & Exhibition, Northern Ireland installers can look forward to their very own ‘Northern Ireland Plumbing & Heating Trade Information Days’ and OFTEC will recommence its popular Regional Roadshows, both here in the UK and also in the Republic of Ireland. And of course, Oilfiredup.com will endeavour to bring you the very latest news and industry developments from these and other key industry events.

Oilfiredup.com will of course remain online over Christmas and the Holiday Period and you can contact us as always by e-mailing info@oilfiredup.com
