OFTEC announce 2009 Excellence Award Winners

The Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC) recently held their annual Awards for Excellence at the City West Hotel in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Almost 200 guests including winners and sponsors attended the gala dinner and awards ceremony, and were entertained by comedian Roy Walker.
Now in their seventh year, the awards claim to recognise and reward excellence in oil heating and cooking. A special award was given to Paula Cosgrove of FAS in recognition of her continuous and outstanding support of OFTEC.
Garry Fox from Powys based M Bufton Plumbing & Heating, was a double gold winner, walking off with the top prize in two categories - oil boiler installer of the year, and oil tank installer of the year. Both his awards were collected on his behalf by Mark Bufton.
Other gold winners were Rossano Di Mascio from D&D Aga Maintenance & Repairs for service and commissioning technician, Tom Carey from CP Jeffries for trainee, Polytank for green initiative of the year, and South West Peninsular Training for training centre of the year.Worceser Bosch won Gold for their marketing campaign, beating off stiff competition from fellow boiler manufacturer Trianco, whilst last year's Gold winner Atlas Tanks, went home this year with nothing.
The Awards for Excellence was sponsored by budget tank manufacturer Titan Environmental and supported by Anton Industrial Services, Firebird, Grant Engineering, METAC, Plumbfix, Trade Direct and Worcester Bosch.
